The Innovation Quarter is a mixed-use development anchored by Wake Forest School of Medicine which serves as the academic core of Advocate Health, the 3rd largest academic healthcare system in the country. Created through a public-private partnership, the work of our small but mighty team has led to an annual economic impact of $1.6B. The Innovation Quarter serves as a hub for regenerative medicine which was recently recognized by the National Science Foundation as a recipient of one of the first-ever NSF Innovation Engines awards, up to US$160M over 10 years, which has become a beacon for industry partners. Lastly, the Innovation Quarter supports the entrepreneurial and start-up needs of our ecosystem, launching a membership-based startup space as well as creating an affordable wet lab leasing model, supporting organizations of all stages of growth.
