Overview
The Pearl will leverage its unique partnerships and district experience to advance healthcare solutions and education with an estimated annual economic impact of US$811B. Since breaking ground in 2023, The Pearl is close to opening the first phase of mixed-use development. The phase includes a 14-story education building, anchored by Wake Forest School of Medicine, Charlotte's first 4-year medical school. Additionally, the first phase includes a research tower, anchored by IRCAD North America, a global surgical training institute has attracted multiple medical device industry partners. The NextUp STEM Lab provides annual programming for middle school aged children, creating a true education continuum. The district, grounded in research and academics, is already major catalyst for education, innovation and development across the Carolinas.
